Social Drinking

The Super Bowl parties with the free flowing beer and nachos is when people get caught drinking and driving afterward. A DUI is going to cost you $10,000, and that’s just one problem. Here are some tips to stay sober during a party.

Eating protein, like peanuts, helps to absorb the alcohol and keep you sober. Sip your drink and make it last for an hour. You can ask for a non-alcoholic beverage periodically.

One of the biggest mistakes you can make drinking is combining alcohol with drugs. Even over the counter medication can impair your judgment. And you will make bad decisions driving if you’ve been drinking. You can cause a loss of a life.

If you plan on drinking, then have a designated driver. If he/she gets other plans, have cash for a cab fare. Remember that cab fare is cheaper than a fatality or a wrecked car or a DUI citation.

Drinking responsibly doesn’t mean the party will be boring. On the contrary, you don’t want to be the one who got so drunk that you spoiled the party. If you wake up the next morning, embarrassed of your behavior, then you know you’ve drunk too much.
