Your Senior Dog

Life Abundance High Quality Dog Food

Your dog’s behavior is an indication that it has reached its senior years. It is calmer - it walks with a heavy tread - and its muzzle grays. You may have to cut back on the long walks or jogging with your older dog. Look into its eyes, your dog will tell you that it doesn’t enjoy it. However, you do feel a serenity around your older dog which brings you comfort.

As important as exercise is, a high quality diet is equally important. Cheap dog food will lower its immune system, make it lethargic, and bring on medical conditions. However, high quality dog food, without chemical preservatives and other junk that is put in dog food, will boost its immune system, boost its energy level, and prevent medical conditions from happening.

Your senior dog requires three things from you:  exercise - high quality meals - and grooming. Brushing your dog is not only comforting, but also a way to rid the dog of dead skin, and keep the fur shiny.

A senior dog is like a human being in many ways. It likes to sleep more - it doesn’t like change - and it can’t hear, see, or smell that well. In warmer months, a senior dog is more prone to dehydration. The rule is that the bigger the dog, the shorter the lifespan so every dog reaches its senior years at different times.
